Mills & Associates has always emphasized that Nevada is a unique venue in which to defend claims. In our blogs, Mills and Associates has identified special “Nevada Factors” that need to be considered in defending Nevada suits. Some carriers are acting on our words of caution.
On a recent trip to Idaho to present our educational seminar on the “Nevada Unfair Claims Practices Act”, Mills & Associates learned that a national transportation insurance company has set up a “Nevada Team”. The carrier will be routing all of its Nevada claims to a special group of adjusters who will deal with all of the Nevada based claims. The insurance company’s goal is to train those specialized adjusters in the ins-and-outs of Nevada’s claims idiosyncrasies and use their Nevada experience to respond appropriately in Nevada insurance claims atmosphere. This practice of setting up a team of Nevada experts may be a concept that insurance companies might want to consider in dealing with Nevada claims.
