EmailIt’s difficult to imagine an OTR truck driver who isn’t intimately familiar with the Petro in Joplin, MO. Located just off of I-44, the Joplin Petro truck stop has been a Mecca for OTR drivers for decades (CLICK HERE). In May, the Joplin Petro completed a much-anticipated remodeling project. The devastating tornado that ripped through Joplin, MO on May 22, 2011 traveled right down the I-44 corridor.
Quite fortunately, the Petro’s remodeling efforts were not in vain as it didn’t sustain any damage.
Those within no more than ½ a mile were not so lucky. Below is a link to photographs of demolished semis in and around the Joplin region that offers a taste of that tornado’s unimaginable power.
